Is a NOC the same as a SOC?

No. A NOC focuses on network availability, performance and restoration. A SOC focuses on security threats and cyber incident response. They can exchange evidence, but each needs distinct tooling, playbooks and authority.

Does 24/7 monitoring mean every issue is fixed immediately?

No. Monitoring, response and resolution are different commitments. Restoration time depends on incident cause, access, spares, carrier or vendor dependencies and the targets defined in the service agreement.

Can emtech coordinate with ISPs and network vendors?

Yes, where vendor and carrier coordination is included and the customer maintains valid support contracts, contacts and authorisation. The NOC supplies evidence and tracks the external escalation.

Is patch management included?

It can be. Network-device patching should include compatibility review, approvals, configuration backup, a maintenance window, rollback planning and post-change validation. Exact responsibility is agreed in scope.

Does the NOC manage firewalls?

Operational firewall availability and approved change support may be included. Advanced threat monitoring, SIEM investigation and cyber response belong to an agreed cybersecurity or SOC service.

What information is needed to onboard a network?

Typical inputs include inventory, topology, site and carrier details, critical services, access method, support entitlements, change rules, business contacts and current incident history.
