How do you size an enterprise server?

Sizing considers CPU, memory, storage IOPS and latency, network, virtual-machine density, accelerator requirements, availability, backup activity, peak load and growth. emtech uses measurements and supported application guidance where available.

Should we choose rack or tower servers?

Tower servers can suit smaller offices or branch environments without a full rack. Rack servers usually provide denser, more standardised deployment for data centres and server rooms. The choice also depends on power, cooling, noise, growth and management.

Can emtech design servers for AI workloads?

Yes. The scope can include GPU or accelerator selection, CPU and memory balance, data movement, local or shared storage, network bandwidth, power, cooling and software compatibility.

Do we still need servers if we use cloud services?

Often yes. Identity, local applications, edge processing, specialist systems, virtualisation, backup or latency-sensitive workloads may remain on premises. emtech can evaluate a hybrid model instead of assuming everything belongs in one location.

How much spare capacity should a cluster have?

It depends on the number of hosts, failure model, maintenance policy and workload growth. A common goal is to sustain required services during the loss or maintenance of a host, but the exact headroom must be calculated.

Can existing servers be reused?

Possibly, if hardware condition, support status, capacity, security features and platform compatibility remain acceptable. The assessment documents retained risk and any role better suited to older equipment.

What security controls are included in server deployment?

Scope can include secure management access, firmware and driver baselines, boot and platform security, network segmentation, least privilege, logging, monitoring and documented configuration.

Can emtech migrate applications to the new servers?

Yes, subject to application support and project scope. Migration planning covers dependencies, backup, testing, change windows, rollback and application-owner acceptance.
